The beginning of a new life is something very special and personal to me. Having had three radically different birthing experiences myself, I know how empowering and valuable it is to be able to relive those memorable moments.

I was born and raised by Dutch parents in South Africa, and since 2019 living in the Netherlands. I am fluent in Afrikaans, Dutch, and English, so take your pick 😊

In March 2019, while raising two small children, I enrolled into a photography course and got my diploma from the Photography Institute. During the next years I focused on family and portrait shoots. Then, in 2022, I found my true passion while capturing a friend’s birth story. So, in February 2023 I attended a workshop in birth photography hosted by De Geboortefotograaf, and am now focussing primarily on this very unique branch of photography.

I was honoured that in 2022 one of my photos was nominated for the “Birthphoto of the Year 2022”, hosted by the well-known Dutch magazine “Ouders van Nu”. To me, this confirmed that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

My philosophy during a birthing shoot is to be non-intrusive and professional, whilst also being flexible towards the needs of the family and caregivers.

I share my life with my magnificent husband and three kids.
